Dry cleaning is a particularly environmentally friendly method of cleaning used plastics. Without the use of fresh water, dirt such as paper labels and food residues are defibered by high acceleration and impact forces. While the cleaned plastic is sucked out of the process, the centrifuged residues leave the cleaner in a separate stream. The process works continuously and allows high throughputs.

With the wastewater-free cleaning technology of Pla.to GmbH the recycling of plastics becomes easier and more economical. By large mechanical forces and air currents, paper is shredded into small fibers and surface dirt is thrown off the plastic by friction.
A rotor equipped with hardened plates rotates in the centrifuge. The rotor is enclosed by a perforated screen basket through which the loosened dirt passes. A strong vacuum sucks fibers and dirt out of the machine.
Another special feature of the Pla.to dry cleaners is the wear-resistant design of the interior of the machine made of hardened steel. The plates on the rotor can be replaced after loosening the screw connections.
An integrated fan increases the throughput and prevents blockages. The centrifuge is equipped with a cleaning system. With its help, separated dirt and fibers are forced out of the machine. This allows uninterrupted continuous operation over very long periods of time.
